A British actor, born and raised in the town of Bolton in the British county of Lancashire. He joined the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, England, before joining Bristol Old Vic Theatre School between 1955 and 1957. In 1962, he joined the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. In addition to theater, his other works include The Boy Friend (1971) and Haunted Honeymoon (1986).
