An American model, singer, comedian, and actress of Jewish descent, born in New York City. She worked in the Ziegfeld Follies in 1910 and 1911 and appeared on Broadway shows. She died on May 29, 1951 in Hollywood. She released the albums: "The Rose of Washington Square" and "Fanny Brice". She also won a Grammy Hall of Fame Award posthumously. She is known for The Great Ziegfeld (1936) and Everybody Sing (1938).
