French actor, born in Paris, France. His uncle, the actor Claude Jarry, pushed him to pursue performing in theater and film when he started his professional career in 1910. He was educated at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique and developed a solid name on stage. He starred in the majority of the plays produced by the Théâtre de la Michodière in Paris, which he co-founded in 1937. He appeared in several films, such as Monsieur Vincent (1947), Tête d'horloge (1970), Les vieux de la vieille (1960), and Tant d'amour perdu (1958). He died on January 9, 1975, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, due to respiratory problems.
