A British producer, actor, and singer, born in London, England. He entered the British film industry at the age of twenty-four through acting, then founded a production company with director Alan Parker. Alan made several films, such as the film Bugsy Malone in 1976. He also received an Oscar nomination for the film Midnight Express in 1978, directed by Alan Parker. Then, they collaborated again through several films.
