A Lebanese poet, born in Baalbek. His father owned large areas of Baalbek land, then sold much of his land and property, making the family live in a state of poverty, which prompted them to move to Tripoli in 1948 to work there. Starting in his childhood, most of which he lived in Baalbek, Haydar was connected to nature, peasants, and willow trees, and this is what appeared in his poetry later on. He studied philosophy and then moved to the Sorbonne University in France to complete his studies there. He returned to Lebanon and worked as a teacher, but he did not succeed in the teaching profession because he believed that his dreams and ideas could not be confined to the classroom, and he described himself as a failed teacher in an interview on the program Interview of a Lifetime on LBC. He met the poet Cocteau in Baalbek in 1979. Fairouz sang his poem "Wahdon Biyebqu," composed by Ziad Rahbani, in 1998. His second collection of poems "The Time Seller" was published in 1999, and he co-wrote the play A Principality from This Time with Said Akl.
