A French actor, film director, and writer, born in Algeria. He began his film career in the 1950s, appearing in several French films. He married film and television producer Christine Gouze-Reynal. His most important works include Ne meurs pas (2003), No Way Out (1973), Le nombril du monde (1993), and Rocco and His Brothers (1960). He died on February 11, 2015.
