A British actress, born in Hornsey, Middlesex, London, England, United Kingdom on December 30, 1879. She married E. J. Taylor and had a daughter, actress Brenda Forbes, and a son, actor Ralph Forbes. She played many roles of mother, widow, and aristocratic social roles in London and Hollywood, where she starred on the London stage starting in 1908 and on Broadway theaters starting 1913. She is best known for You Can't Take It With You (1938), Terror by Night (1946), and Houseboat (1958). Mary Forbes died on July 22, 1974 in Beaumont, California, USA.
