An American actress, born in Hannah, North Dakota, USA, on January 8, 1900. Dorothy Adams married actor Byron Foulger (1926-1970) and had one daughter, actress Rachel Ames. Adams is best known for her roles in The Best Years of Our Lives (1946), The Killing (1956), The Ten Commandments (1956), and Bedtime Story (1941). Dorothy Adams specialized in the roles of the oppressed woman and the maid, playing the role of a slave in The Ten Commandments. She also worked in Pasadena Playhouse with her husband. In the early sixties, she taught theatrical arts at UCLA, and in the seventies, she worked extensively in American television. Dorothy Adams died on March 16, 1988, in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA.
