American singer, songwriter, and musical artist. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, United States. She attended Wendell Phillips Academy High School in Bronzeville, Chicago, and moved to Detroit, Michigan. She attended Peters School of Business and worked as an airline ticket reservation agent at United Airlines before moving with her children from Detroit to Los Angeles, where she participated in many artistic works.
