An American actor, born in New York City, New York, USA, on May 4, 1903, as Lutha Adler. He married actress Sylvia Sidney, and after their divorce, he married Julie Roche. Luther Adler is known for D.O.A. (1949), The Loves of Carmen (1948), The Desert Fox: The Story of Rommel (1951), and Under My Skin (1950). Luther Adler was born into a pioneering family of the Jewish theater. His father, Jacob Pavlovich Adler, was one of the founders of the Yiddish theatre in America. He was one of six siblings, among them are Stella Adler and Jay Adler. Luther first appeared on stage at the age of 5 and made his Broadway debut at the age of 18. Adler is the only Jewish actor to have played the role of Adolf Hitler 3 times. He died on December 8, 1984, in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, USA.
