A British author and playwright, born on May 13, 1907, London, United Kingdom. The international director Hitchcock transformed her short novel The Birds into one of the most famous films of the twentieth century with the same title. Her novel Rebecca was turned into a film that won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography in 1941. She died on April 19, 1989.
