He joined the Dramaten's student school...Read more and became an actor at the Blancheteater in Stockholm, in 1936. He is known for Dollar (1938), En kvinnas ansikte (1938), För min heta ungdoms skull (1952) and Kärlekens bröd (1953). In the 1960s, his interest focused on the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm, where he presented plays by several well-known writers. Among the awards he received were the Eugene O’Neill Award and the Medal for Arts and Letters in 1970.
