Japanese director and animator born on 19 September 1967 in Kamiichi, Toyama, Japan. He worked at Madhouse Studio from 2005-2011, then left to establish his own studio named Studio Chizu. His works include The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, Wolf Children, and The Boy and the Beast.
