• A French actor, writer, and film director, born in Apernay, France. He achieved great success with his first screenwriting attempt, Jeux interdits (1952). It became a huge commercial success in America, so director René Clément, along with writers Jean Aurenche and Pierre Bost, helped adapt it into a screenplay. The film was a huge international success, winning an Honorary Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He co-wrote The 25th Hour (1967), The Scheming Women (1954), and Mords pas, on t'aime! (1976). He died May 24, 2003, in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France, at the age of 83.
