An American actress, born on December 30, 1911, in Los Angeles, California, USA. She won the Bronze Langler Award twice. She married John McIntire (1935-1991), with whom she had two children, actors Tim McIntire and Holly McIntire. She is known for The Big Heat (1953), The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962), and The Rescuers (1977). She began her career working in the Pasadena Playhouse while studying at Los Angeles City College then worked in radio. She made her film debut in Macbeth (1948). She appeared in numerous television series during her career. Nolan died on June 5, 1998, in Los Angeles, California, USA, of a stroke.
