An American actor, born on September 15, 1954 in Texas, but his father's military career made the family move to Japan when he was five years old. Later, the family moved to Plano during his second year of high school. In 1980, Leland graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor's degree in acting and directing, after which he spent four decades working in the theater, cinema, and television. He appeared in dozens of films, plays and TV shows. His movies include Hancock (2008), Deepwater Horizon (2016), and Land (2021).
