An English director, born in London, England. He graduated from the University of Cambridge, after studying English literature. He also participated in local theater shows, joined the Royal Shakespeare Company, and then joined the writing team at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). He directed the science fiction film, The Core, and he was chosen to direct the series The Singing Detective, written by Dennis Potter.
