An Uruguayan director, writer, actor, and cinematographer, born on April 19, 1958, in Montevideo, Uruguay. He is known for The Constant Gardener (2005), Blindness (2008), and City of God (2002), for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Cinematography. César was invited to join AMPAS in 2006.
