An American actress, singer, and model, born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA, on September 29, 1922, as Emma Matzo. She received a star on the Walk of Fame in 1960. Scott married twice. She is known for Too Late for Tears (1949), Pitfall (1948), and Dead Reckoning (1947). She was born among six siblings and her parents were Slovak immigrants. She attended Scranton Preparatory School, then joined the Alvienne School of the Theatre in New York City. She appeared in 1942 in Broadway theaters, and in 1945, she signed with Paramount Pictures. She retired from film work in 1957 and headed to television work while studying at the University of Southern California, after which she went to work in real estate projects and volunteering. She died on January 31, 2015, in Los Angeles, California, USA, of heart failure.
