An English director and actor, who attended St Bede's Grammar School. He joined the Bradford Civic Playhouse under director Esme Church. He also has extensive experience in theatre and became the artistic director of the Birmingham Theater (Birmingham Rep) in 1957. He also participated in many artistic productions in the theater and on the cinema screen.
