An American producer and writer, born in Portland, Oregon, in the United States, and then moved with her family to Los Angeles. After she graduated from the University of California, she met her future husband, Irving Ravetch, in a training program for writers affiliated with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. After World War II, the couple married in 1946. Among her credits are Whiplash (1948), Run for Cover (1955) and Norma Rae (1979). She died on January 28, 2020.
