A Scottish screenwriter and actress, born in Greenock, Scotland. She studied Dramatic Arts and Sociology at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, before completing postgraduate studies in teaching at Manchester Metropolitan University, and then studied acting in London, England. Her works include Dear Frankie (2004) and Elizabeth Is Missing (2019).
