An English actress, writer, and director, born in Leeds, England. She studied at Bretton Hall College, which later became part of the University of Leeds. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts with honors in 1983. She is famous for writing many artistic works, including Fanny and Elvis (1999) and Laying the Field (1998-2002).
