An American writer, born in Port Jefferson, New York in 1967. She studied at Brown University in the field of computer science, graduating in 1989. He also studied at Clarion Writing Workshop and worked as a technical writer in the software industry in Bellevue, Washington. His work include the movie Arrival (2016), and he also worked on writing short films, most notably Exhalation (2009), and the novelette Hell Is the Absence of God (2002).
