An American actor, born in Austin, Texas, United States. He attended the Virginia Military Institute in 1949, then studied law at the University of Texas at Austin before moving on to acting. They studied theater for two years. He won an Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
