American producer and writer, born in Los Angeles, California, USA. His full name is Michael Philip Butler. He married Holly McIntire, then Janice Hutchins, and finally Nancy Gast. He is best known for The Gauntlet (1977), Pale Rider (1985), and White Mile (1994).
