An American writer, born in Henderson, Nevada, USA. He is the brother of the writer Glen Charles. He studied at the University of Redlands and graduated in 1965. He began his career writing for advertisements, then moved to television. His works include Cheers (1982-1993) and Pushing Tin (1999).
