A British editor and director. He was born in London, England. He learned to play the violin at the London College of Music before working at Denham Film Studios in 1947. In the 1940s, he worked in the editing department, and by the 1950s, he was an assistant in this department. Then he was a film editor, and in 1962 he worked on the James Bond film, Dr. No (1962), and later his name was associated with editing those works, while his directorial debut was with the movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969).
