British actor, director, and writer, born on April 27, 1959, in London, England, United Kingdom. He was educated at Woolverstone Hall Boarding School in Suffolk, where he had his first acting experience. He was trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. He is known for The Kindness of Strangers (2006), Frankenstein (2007), and Bridget Jones's Baby (2016).
