A French-Tunisian director and writer, born on January 9, 1961, in Tunis, Tunisia, to a Tunisian father and a French mother. He directed his first short film Dans le sac in 1987. He gained worldwide fame through his short film Zoé la boxeuse (1992), which won the Grand Prix at the Outdoor Short Film Festival of Grenoble. He is known for Khamsa (2008), Fureur (2003), and Pigalle (1994).
