An American environmental scientist, born in the United States of America. He is a professor in the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. He graduated in 1974, after obtaining a bachelor's degree in geology from Colorado College, followed by a master's degree in 1980, and a doctorate in 1983 in earth sciences from the University of Washington. He has efforts in climate change policy and has appeared in several films and documentaries.
