A French film director, screenwriter and animator, born in Besançon, Doubs, France. Considered one of France's best animated filmmakers, he has been passionate about animation since meeting director Paul Grimault. He directed several short films, including L'arche de Noé. His notable works include The Prince's Voyage (2019), Louise by the Shore (2016) and Gwen, the Book of Sand (1985). He won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival for the film Rowing Across the Atlantic.
