An American comic book writer, born in New York City, and moved with his family to Long Island, New York, USA. He obtained a degree in art from Farmingdale State College. He was able to sell his stories to DC Comics by 1968. He collaborated with artist Bernie Wrightson and revamped the X-Men in 1975, by adding more new characters in the first issue of Giant Size X-Men. He died on September 10, 2017.
