An English actor, born in Birmingham, United Kingdom. He started training at the Croydon Repertory Theatre. He won an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award for his performance in A Man for All Seasons (1966). He also won a Tony Award for his role in the theatrical version that was performed on Broadway in the United States.
