An Italian writer and director, born in Milan, Italy. He studied political science and law, then moved to Rome, where he worked as an assistant to directors Roberto Rossellini and Renato Castellani. His writing credits include Outlaw Girl (1950), Smog (1962), and To Forget Venice (1979), which was nominated for an Oscar award in the Best Foreign Film category.
