He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois in 1958, and an Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1960. He is the author...Read more of 72 books published in 24 countries, including bestsellers. Among his notable credits are Private School, The Guardian, and Live a Little, Love a Little. He also co-wrote successful Broadway plays such as "Oh! Calcutta!" and "Free to Be... You and Me". He died of a stroke on December 18, 2023.
