A German cinematographer, born in Brandenburg, Germany. He studied cinematography at Konrad Wolf Film University of Babelsberg, formerly known as the Film and Television Academy of the GDR, and for a short time as a scholarship holder at Łódź Film School. He also made a name for himself as a documentary filmmaker.
