Turkish director, writer, and producer. He was born in Ankara on September 12, 1941. He was nicknamed "the Jet Director" for his speed in film-making. He completed his high school education at Kabataş High School for Boys and then studied law for two years, getting married in...Read more those years. He began his cinema career as the assistant of well-known Turkish director Atıf Yılmaz and later worked as the 1st Assistant Director on the movie Bir Gecelik Gelin (1962). He left the Faculty of Law to start filmmaking and was enlisted in the military in 1963. Due to financial problems, he worked with Yılmaz Atadeniz, whose films were both ending quickly and making a lot of money. He shot films that were influenced by American and Western cinema, such as Red Mask, Demir Claw, and Çeko. His first movie was Çelik Bilek (1967).
