An American writer, born in Indiana, USA. He is famous for his series of stories Clifford the Big Red Dog. He began his career by illustrating children's books until a publishing house turned one of his drawings into a story. More than forty stories were sold, two television series were produced for it, and he wrote the book The Witch Next Door.
