An American writer, born in Hobart, Oklahoma, USA. After graduating from Davenport High School in 1951, he joined the US Navy in 1951. After leaving the Navy, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious education from Chicago College, then a Bachelor of Education degree from Teachers College, entered Columbia Theological Seminary, and then earned a Master of Divinity degree from Columbia University. He participated in many artistic works.
