An American actress, born December 29, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York, and lived in Los Angeles. She rose to fame through The Dick Van Dyke Show (1960). One of her most famous programs was The Mary Tyler Moore Show. During her career, she received a Primetime Emmy Award and was nominated for a Best Actress in the Academy Awards in 1981 for her role in The Ordinary People (1980). She died January 25, 2017, in a Connecticut hospital at the age of 80.
