An Indian actor born in Panipat, India. He began his career in theater in the 1950s with the Indian People's Theater Association (IPTA) in Bombay. His film career extended for more than five decades, and he was famous for his diverse roles such as the father, police officer, doctor, and villain roles. He collaborated with many Bollywood actors such as Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, and Jeetendra. Among his credits are Deewaar (1975) and Sholay (1975). He died on October 27, 2007.
