A British director and actor, born in India. He attended college in San Francisco. He co-founded the Wandering Players' Theatre Company and became its artistic director. He moved to Hollywood in the mid-1970s, started working as an actor at a time when there weren't many South Asian artists there, and collaborated with many well-known stars. His most notable works include The Gold Bracelet (2006), The Black Prince (2017), Pet Sematary (1989), and The Three Kings (1987).
