He is considered the creator of Father Brown's character in his writings on theology. Time magazine nicknames him "the Prince of Paradox." He is the author of important books such as Orthodoxy and Eternal Man. Several works were based on his works, such as Sanctuary of Fear (1979), Manalive (1973), Detective (1964), and Pater Brown (1966-1972). He died on June 14, 1936.
