A British actor, born in Selby, Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom. He won the NYFCC Award and the NBR Award for the movie The Letter (1940) and was nominated for an Academy Award for the same movie. James married once. Among his most important works are The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex (1938), The Letter (1940), The Sea Hawk (1940), and Shining Victory (1941). James Stevenson began his artistic career at an advanced age as he was 49 when he presented his first work in 1937, the year in which he presented 4 works. He suddenly died of a heart attack on July 29, 1941, in Palisades, California, USA.
