A British actor, director, and writer, born in Carlisle, Cumbria, United Kingdom, and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, until the age of eight. He spent the rest of his childhood in Newcastle upon Tyne and studied music in London. He directed several works such as Suspension of Disbelief (2012), Cold Creek Manor (2003), Leaving Las Vegas (1995), and Liebestraum (1991).
