A Russian actor born in Russia on August 28, 1905. He married Constance Kane in 1953 and had a child before their divorce. His most important works are: The Killers (1946), After the Thin Man (1936) and Last Embrace (1979). He is also a stage actor. He made his Broadway debut in 1927 in the melodrama Walk Street two years before the economic depression that hit the New York Stock Exchange. He created several notable signs on the stage, including the role of "Nathan Detroit" in the Broadway masterpiece Guys and Dolls produced in 1950. He received the Tony Award for Best Dramatic Actor on Broadway. He did not leave the theater throughout his artistic life. As for his cinematic activity, it exceeded 45 films, starting in 1936 when they asked him to do the character he performed on stage in the movie Three Men on a Horse 1936.He died on December 28, 1980 of a sudden heart attack in New York City.
