An American actor, born on January 30, 1883, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. He started working in vaudeville in 1905. An animator who worked for Walt Disney Productions suggested that Disney hire him as a live-action reference model for the character "Dopey" in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). He is known for The Blue Bird (1940), Quick Millions (1939), and Charlie Chan in Honolulu (1938). He died on September 2, 1940, in Arcadia, California, USA, of a heart attack, at the age of 57.
