An American writer, born in Chicago, Illinois, the United States. He was educated at Phillips Academy and Princeton University, and joined the Anglo-American Institute at Moscow University. Then he returned to New York, and in 1935 he worked as a publicity director with a film production company. Some of his credits include Forever Amber (1947) and The Cincinnati Kid (1965). He died on October 31, 2000.
