An American actress, born in Stamford, Connecticut, USA, on August 3, 1915. She studied in New York, Manila, and Hong Kong. She married Stanley Gould and producer and writer Jed Harris, and she had two children. In a high school play, she caught the attention of a producer from St. John's College, after which she appeared on Broadway following her graduation. Platt made her movie debut in I Met My Love Again (1938), and she is best known for Stagecoach (1939), Captain Caution (1940), Tell No Tales (1939), and Street of Chance (1942). She died on September 6, 2003, in Greenport, New York, USA.
